Melanie Manchot studied at New York University and the Royal College of Art in London. She works with photography, film, video and sound. Participatory and collaborative strategies are central elements of her artistic practice, which often moves at the interface of documentary and staged forms.
Solo exhibitions at MAC VAL Museum for Contemporary Art, Paris, Whitechapel Gallery, London, and Kunsthaus Pasquart Biel. Her works are represented in numerous international collections.
