"Undeterred by proclamations regarding the oncoming end of the printed book's era in the near future, millions of publications pile up in Kolkata's university quarter and more are printed and get published every day by numerous local publishing houses. (...)
The bookshops are central to my photographic work. By applying the formal criteria and using large size technique for the photographs it is possible to focus on the single object. This method ensures comparability of the whole series. These details and deserted perspectives are contrasted with busy street sceneries of the everyday life in College Street and its back streets around."
